Sagebrush Energy, LLC is renewable energy development company founded in 2006 by Paul Kimball (principal) and Ben Ellis (project manager). Our strategy is to develop a series of small wind energy projects in the west that provide clean renewable energy at a scale that is sensitive to aesthetic and environmental concerns of the community. Both owners have direct and daily management oversight of project operations, including all aspects of planning, permitting, financing, constructing, and operating wind energy projects.


Paul Kimball: In the course of his career Mr. Kimball has advised on and executed many of the world’s largest foreign exchange transactions and has been a sounding board on global economic policy issues for several finance ministers and central bank governors throughout the world. From 1982 – 2001 Mr. Kimball helped establish and later headed the global Foreign Exchange Department of Morgan Stanley. During his 8 year tenure as co-head, Mr. Kimball was named Chairman (1998-2001) of the Foreign Exchange Committee, a global industry association established by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to provide advice to the Federal Reserve on financial markets and developments on the global economy. Mr. Kimball was also the first Chairman of Fx All which is the world’s largest electronic platform for client foreign exchange trading.

After spending 2 years on sabbatical in Paris (2001-2003) Mr. Kimball returned to Morgan Stanley to assist senior management on global risk management and regulatory issues. In 2004, Mr. Kimball participated in the National Innovation Initiative as chair of the Innovation Finance sub-committee which in December produced a comprehensive set of recommendations to improve the innovation “eco-system” of America.

Mr. Kimball has an MBA from the University of Chicago, a B.A from the University of Notre Dame and a License Economique from the University of Catholique de Louvain, in Belgium.

Ben Ellis: Has worked as a consultant for the energy industry for over a decade. During the course of his career he developed an intimate knowledge of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and helped to secure environmental permitting for large electrical utilities. Recently he has provided strategic planning and construction management for a number of renewable energy projects. Dr. Ellis has a doctorate from the University of New Hampshire in Natural Resource Economics.

Ross Keogh: Is a graduate of Vassar College with degrees in Environmental Studies and Economics, and a M.A. in Economics from the University of Montana. A fifth generation Montanan, he has an intimate understanding of the west's political, natural and social environments. Mr. Keogh is trained in Geographic Information Systems.

Glenn Ronning : A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Glenn has a background in information Technology.  His experience includes accounting software development, web site creation, and network administration.  At Sagebrush, Glenn's responsibilities includes financial/economic research and administration.
